Hello Higher-Minded Humans!
Did you know that today is Stop Food Waste Day? I didn’t either, until I looked it up. But what a good reminder to make the most out of the food we grow and buy. In an upcoming episode of Getting Personal with Plant Medicine, Frankie GreenThumbs talks about living soil, which can be created by using compost.
We’ve also talked about other ways to get the most out of what is growing outside, which is a great way to combat food waste. One of our earliest episodes centers dandelions, where we discuss how every part of the plant is useful. In another episode, the possibility of consuming roses for wellness benefits is part of a conversation about plants that can help with libido.
One the reasons we began GPPM is because there are so many ways to utilize plants that we didn’t know were possible. Plants that we see every day out in the world (like dandelions) have so many benefits and can be delicious! And there are so many ways to avoid waste: teas, tinctures, salves, and baked goods, to name a few.
How do you combat food waste?
